Lots of ‘excuses’ for not making it to watercolour class this morning. It was cold. The deck was treacherously slippery with frost over rain. Would the pavements be slippery too if I walked or biked to class? I looked at the clothes I had put out ready to wear and instead reached for my warm track pants and woolly jumper. Half an hour before class was due to start I phoned in my apology. Then I sat down at my desk with the sun at my back and began the project I’d been planning for class: working with watercolour pencils, using photos I’d taken previously.

A birthday card I made in the weekend makes me smile and gives me a bit more confidence in my creativity.

Note: The extra ‘R’ in birthday is deliberate. It’s hard to see in the photo, but some letters are in a different colour to spell out the recipient’s name for which I needed an extra ‘R’.
Good on you for creativity at home without needing to go out in the cold.
